What that does not buy
A recommendation is never for sale. Commission rates do not decide which product a page recommends. Where several honest options exist we may choose which category to build out next, but inside a category the better product wins, every time.
That distinction is the whole basis of the site. Recommending a worse product because it pays more is invisible to every automated check we run, which is exactly why it is written down as a rule instead.
The awkward cases, said out loud
Several pages here recommend a cheap transformer over a replacement doorbell costing about ten times as much, and the commission follows the price. Where the cheap fix is the right fix, that is what the page says.
