About this site
DoorbellSecure is published by Sunny Days Digital. This page says how the guidance here is put together, because that is the part worth knowing before you follow any of it.
What this site is for
Most doorbell camera trouble is not the camera. It is a transformer that cannot carry the load, a chime the app was never told about, or a door that Wi-Fi does not quite reach. This site exists to help you find which one you have, before you send a working camera back.
The guides are written for a homeowner or a renter with no electrical training, and they say plainly when a job stops being one you should do yourself.
How the guidance is put together
- Manufacturer figures come from manufacturers. The voltage and VA table lists 19 models, and every row is taken from the maker's own published documentation and carries the date it was read. Where a figure is not published, the table says so instead of estimating.
- Product descriptions are checked against the listing. Every one is compared against the seller's own specification, and we correct them when they disagree. Several have been corrected that way, and the corrections page records the ones that reached readers first.
- Statutes and rules are read at source where a page touches them, never summarized from another site.
What we do not do
- We do not test products in a lab, and we do not pretend to. Where a description says how something behaves, it comes from the maker's specification or from what the part physically is, not from our own measurements. If you see a claim here that reads like a test result, it is a mistake and we want to hear about it.
- We do not tell you a camera prevents crime. A doorbell camera records. It does not protect, and no page here will suggest otherwise.
- We do not publish prices. They change faster than a page can, and a stale price is worse than none.
- We do not invent deals, discount codes or urgency.
